Nona Stevens Douglas

Nona Verlina Stevens Douglas, 88, of Kosciusko, a retired seamstress for Sheller Globe, died Feb. 3, 2010 at the Attala Nursing Center.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 5, 9-11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Barry Corbett and Rev. Mark Parnell will officiate.

She loved spending time with her family. Her grands were her heart. She also loved reading the Bible and visiting with her pastors. She loved watching baseball on television and was a wonderful cook. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kosciusko.

She is survived by her son, Joe Ray Douglas and wife, Talitha of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Kenneth Ray Douglas and wife, Danita of Ackerman, Kelli Douglas Blaylock and husband, Scott of Kosciusko, and Cassie Douglas Allen and husband, Steven of Kosciusko, Ann Douglas Self and husband Chris of Gluckstadt, and Ellen Suzanne Douglas West, and husband Scott of Kosciusko; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Self, Anna Claire Blaylock, Matthew Allen, Alexandra Katherine West, Branden Allen and Madeline Self.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Wayne Douglas; son, James Wayne Douglas; daughter-in-law, Shirley O’Briant Douglas; parents, Jim and Blanche Duran Stevens; brother, Lester Stevens; sisters, Estelle Blackstock and Ilar Mae McGee.

Pallbearers will be Andy Cochran, Scott Blaylock, Chris Self, Scott West, Kenneth Ray Douglas and Steven Allen.

Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
