Memorial services were held recently for Mark Ashworth Short of Brandon.
Mark, 55, died February 20, 2013. He was born May 28, 1957 in San Diego.
Mark was a graduate of Manhattan High School and was retired from Southern Pools, a pool service he created. He was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, drag racing and fast boats and loved camping on a sandbar in the reservoir.
The last few years have found Mark in failing health, but as a devout Christian he is now in the arms of his Lord.
Survivors are his wife Donna Marie Short, who he loved dearly; mother Frances Peacock Ramsey of Madison; father Dr. Louie Short of Jackson; sisters Laura Lee Hefner of Dallas, Jennifer Marie Boitnot of Roanoke, Va., Pamela Ruth Thrasher of Bridgeport, W.Va.; stepson Reese Berry; and his beloved dog, Junior.
