George W. Speed Jr.

Graveside services for George W. Speed Jr., 80, were held Sunday, Jan. 31, at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Cemetery in Madison County with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Speed, retired from a military career, died Jan. 30, 2010 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. He was a veteran of the Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a native of Sumter County, Alabama, son of George W. and Ann Ruth Smith Speed.

He is survived by a son, Allen Speed of Goodman; daughter, Allie and Tim Jenkins of Kosciusko; granddaughters, Mary Katherine and Madeline Jenkins.
