Maxwell Sanders

Maxwell Sanders, 68, of Kosciusko, a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer with the National Park Service, died Jan. 31, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kosciusko. Rev. Barry Corbett will lead the memorial service Thursday at 12 p.m. Jordan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He distinctly served for 33 years as a park ranger with the National Park Service, 25 years of which were served on the Natchez Trace Parkway. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kosciusko. He was a member of the Panama Canal Society and the Mississippi Ornithological Society. He also was an avid golfer and bird watcher.

He is survived by his wife, Willa Sanders of Kosciusko; daughters, Alicia Sanders Bouldin and husband, Jason of Oxford, and Shelley Sanders of North Carolina; brother, Gordon Sanders of Knoxville, TN; sister, Carolyn Falasca of Wilmington, DE; and grandchild, William Maxwell Sanders Bouldin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxwell Sheldon Sanders Sr. and Jeanne Carolyn Crouch Sanders.

Memorials may be sent in lieu of flowers to the First Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, the Mississippi Chapter of Nature Conservancy, or the Audubon Society.
