Marion Elizabeth Womble, 86, of McCool, died at home on February 21, 2013.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ron McDougald, Rev. Tom Bentley and Rev. Doyle Mitchell will officiate.
Mrs. Womble was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Dearborn, MI, to Victor Emanuel deBenedetti and Elizabeth Stevenson Chambers. She was reared in Largs, Scotland and returned to the United States following World War II. She was a homemaker, a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Womble (Philip III) Gulmy of Glen Rock, NJ, William Victor Womble of McCool and Vickie Womble (Freddie) George of Kosciusko; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Guy E. Bennett of Santa Cruz, CA.
Mrs. Womble was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie “Bill” Melvin Womble; a daughter, Marion Margaret Lackey; and a sister, Margaret Holley.
Pallbearers will be Rich Briggs, Justin Dickerson, Jacob Freedman, Eric George, Philip B. Gulmy and Bennet Womble.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
