KOSCIUSKO —
A memorial service was held Oct. 7 at Grace Church in Kosciusko for James Paul Toten, known on CB as “RodBender”.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Peggy Joeanne Bryant Toten of French Camp; a son, Nicholas “Nicky” Roy Toten; an adopted son, Shannon Chesteen; two daughters, Angela Suzzanne Dees and Battina Christine Rice; seven grandchildren, Daemon Allen Dees, Thomas James Dees, Nadiya Christine Rice, Devin Walker Collins, Taylor Layne Beckam, Carmen Abby Becerra, Aiden Wilson Becerra, all of Kosciusko; two sisters, Lilla Mae Pegram of Yazoo City and Sara Evelyn Hicks of Hesterville; three brothers, George Ray Toten of Jackson, William Everett Toten of Hesterville, Edward Allen Toten of Louisiana.
Mr. Toten’s remains will be put to rest in a private ceremony at a later date at North Union Cemetery.
