Grays graduates at Hinds CC
The Hinds Community College fall 2009 commencement held on the Raymond campus celebrated a total of 597 graduates.
The graduates included Eric Grays of Kosciusko.

- Two Attalans on Hinds honor list The Hinds Community College dean’s and president’s scholars have been named for the 2009 fall semester.
- Two on MUW honor list The following Mississippi University for Women students, both of Attala County, were recognized on the President’s List for the fall 2009 semester.

Goodman student selected Ambassador
Brandon Landfair of Goodman, has been selected to serve as People To People (P2P) Student Ambassador to Australia in Summer, 2010. He is a seventh grade student at Old Dominion Christian School.

- Two from Kosy on USM honor list The University of Southern Mississippi has released the president’s and dean’s lists for the spring semester.
- Attalan named STAR in Winona school Katy L. Greenlee has been named STAR (Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student at Winona Christian School.
- Kosciusko Vocational students to compete for scholarships Two students from Kosciusko Vocational Center in Kosciusko are teaming up to test their automotive knowledge and technical skills against other top notch students statewide with more than $100,000 in scholarship dollars on the line and a shot to represent the state in a national contest later this summer.

Newell places in State Youth of the Year contest
Melanie Newell, 2009 Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year, competed in Jackson March 19-20 for the State Youth of the Year title.
- Parents Night set at Ethel HS for Wednesday Parents Night is scheduled for March 11, 3-5:30 p.m. at Ethel High School.
