Katy L. Greenlee has been named STAR (Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student at Winona Christian School.

She has chosen her English teacher, Mrs. Jo Betty Aldy-Cawthon of Sallis, as STAR Teacher. She has taught in the classroom for 50 years including Kosciusko and Carthage High Schools. She is a graduate of Holmes Community College, Delta State University and has had additional study at Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi.

She has been named STAR Teacher multiple times in Holmes, Leake and Attala Counties. She has received the Woman of the Year award and Educator of the Year in Leake-Holmes.

The Winona STAR Student is a member of the Beta Club, Leadership Montgomery Youth, varsity cheerleader, Scholar Bowl teams. She is the daughter of J. Lane Greenlee and Rebecca Hodges. She will continue her education at the University of Mississippi.

Goodman student selected Ambassador Brandon Landfair of Goodman, has been selected to serve as People To People (P2P) Student Ambassador to Australia in Summer, 2010. He is a seventh grade student at Old Dominion Christian School.

Kosciusko Vocational students to compete for scholarships Two students from Kosciusko Vocational Center in Kosciusko are teaming up to test their automotive knowledge and technical skills against other top notch students statewide with more than $100,000 in scholarship dollars on the line and a shot to represent the state in a national contest later this summer.
