Chieftains not kind to MHS after 27-year postseason hiatus

A successful season for the French Camp football team ended on a low note with a 34-7 loss to Resurrection in the opening round of the MHSAA Class 1A State Playoffs.

The McAdams Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 5-5 overall record and a 4-4 mark in Region 2-1A play after falling to Kennedy 38-12 last Friday night.  Due to key victories earlier in the season, the Bulldogs were awarded a playoff berth and will travel to Okolona for their first MHSAA

The Kosciusko Whippets (3-9) fell to Itawamba (10-2) last Friday night in Class 4A North Playoff action 17-14 and saw the season under first-year head coach Kelly Causey come to an end.

French Camp closed out the regular season with a 56-44 win over Leake County thanks to outstanding performances by junior quarterback Holman Edwards and sophomore running back Kendall Coleman.


Whippets, Tigers now 2-0


The Kosciusko Whippets opened the season with resounding wins over Winona and Yazoo County, winning both games in six innings by scores of 12-2 and 13-0.  The Ethel Tigers handled business in much the same way by sweeping Greenville St. Joe 12-2 and 10-2.

Lady Bulldogs advance


The McAdams Lady Bulldogs defeated West Lowndes last Friday night 61-49 and advanced to play Ashland in the Class 1A quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Mississippi Coliseum.  The Lady Bulldogs pushed their record to 23-5 with the win over West Lowndes.
