Report: Kosy native named receivers coach at Ole Miss

By STAFF REPORTS,

Jacob Peeler, a graduate of Kosciusko and Holmes Community College, has been named the new wide receivers coach at Ole Miss, according to multiple reports.

Peeler was in his fourth season as a member of the Cal football staff and his second campaign as the team’s inside receivers coach in 2016 after having worked with the same position group as a graduate assistant in 2012 and 2013. Peeler was instrumental in the success of Cal's record-breaking the past three seasons and has also developed into one of the nation's top recruiters.

Last season the Bears were ranked fourth in the country in passing offense, averaging 358.8 passing yards per game. Cal ranked third nationally in 2015.

Peeler became availiable after the dismissal of former Cal coach Sonny Dykes a few days ago.

Before Cal Peeler spent four seasons as a quality control assistant at Louisiana Tech. He acted as the TE's and assistant offensive line coach at Itawamba Community College in 2008.
