STRINGER —
The McAdams Lady Bulldogs, Weir Lady Lions, and Durant Lady Tigers traveled to Stringer High School to participate in the South State tournament this past Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs played Hinds AHS and lost 75-52.
The Lady Lions played Stringer, the tournament host, and lost 52-38.
And lastly, the Durant Lady Tigers took the floor against Bogue Chitto and lost 47-39.
The McAdams Lady Bulldogs got the night started against Hinds AHS fell quickly behind, 37-24 at the half.
Hinds AHS put the game away in the third quarter and led 63-38 going into the fourth and cruised to a 23-point win.
The Lady Lions were up next and quickly led 12-9 after the first quarter but allowed Stringer to tie the game just before the half, 17-17.
Stringer came out after the half and was able to take a commanding 38-28 lead over the Lady Lions after three.
Weir was unable to overcome the third quarter and lost by 14 points. The last game of the night involved the Durant Lady Tigers losing to Bogue Chitto by eight points.
The McAdams, Weir, and Durant girl’s basketball teams ended their 2011-12 seasons after being eliminated from the South State tournament.
