In the Richland game, Kosciusko won a very physical game with Richland to reach the playoffs and will have played at Pontotoc (7 p.m.) in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday. Ables had three shots and one goal, Jose Martinez had one shot and Alan Vasquez had two shots. Plunkett had two saves. “We had a lot of scoring opportunities that we missed out on,” said Kosciusko head boys soccer coach Dustin Horne. “We capitalized when it really matter. The guys played hard. The defense was a stone wall. They cleared through balls and contested any crosses. These guys played their hearts out and I’m proud of them.”
This will be the first time Kosciusko has been to the playoffs since 2001.
