Lady Whippets begin season with huge wins

By Austin Bishop

To call Kosciusko's performance in the Eupora Fast-Pitch Classic on Saturday dominating, could be classified as a serious understatement.

"We came to play today (Saturday)," said KHS head coach Tony Terry. "We hit the ball as well as you could hit it. We had good practices on Thursday and Friday and it carried over.

"There are still a lot of things we have to get better at, but overall it was a good first step," he said.

Lyn Browning had three singles and scored two runs in the opener, while Katie Ferguson swatted a triple and single, scored three times and drove in a pair of runs.

Allison Ray pitched three innings and struck out a pair for the winners.

Young had a strong pitching game for Kosy in the nightcap, striking out seven in three innings of work to pick up the win.
