Durant falls to Ingomar, 70-56

JACKSON — Ingomar took care of business early and late to take a 70-56 win over Durant in the semifinals of the MHSAA Class 1A State Boys Basketball Tournament on Friday.

With the win the Falcons advance to Thursday's 2:30 p.m. championship game against McAdams.

Zach Carnell, a 6-foot-7 senior, proved too much for Durant to handle inside, as he pumped in 32 points.

Ingomar led 25-10 after one quarter, but Durant fought back to cut it to 35-33 at the half and 47-45 with just one quarter left to play. Ingomar won the fourth 23-10 to claim the win.

Cortez Frizell scored 13 points to lead Durant, while Cody James and Tevin Marzette picked up 10 each.
