KOSCIUSKO —
Despite the fact it was just July 26, high school football practice got started across the state of Mississippi on Monday, with teams working out in shorts and pads.
Teams can play in scrimmages and jamborees beginning on Aug. 13 with regular season games beginning on Aug. 20.
Stan McCain will be in his second year as head coach at Kosciusko High School, while Paul Dees is beginning his fourth at Ethel High School and Ras Bayles his third at McAdams High School.
Kosciusko will take part in the Carthage Jamboree on Aug. 13, while Ethel will be at the Eupora Jamboree, Weir will play in the Durant Jamboree and McAdams will scrimmage French Camp.
The Aug. 20 season openers have Kosciusko visiting Terry, Ethel traveling to Pisgah, Weir visiting Hamilton, Durant hosting S.V. Marshall, Ackerman entertaining Starkville Academy, Central Holmes hosting Sharkey-Issaquena, J.J. McClain hosting South Delta and Winona Christian visiting Carroll.
