The Weir Lions hosted the Nanih Waiya Warriors on Friday, December 14, and came away with a 62-57 victory.
The Lions jumped on the Warriors early and led 20-17 after the first quarter.
A strong second quarter for the Lions allowed them to take a 40-28 lead into the intermission.
The Lions would score 10 points in the third quarter while the visiting Warriors could only manage eight points.
The Lions took a 50-36 lead into the games final quarter.
The Warriors put on an offensive showcase in the fourth quarter and outscored the Lions 25-7, but that wouldn't be enough and Weir hung on for a 62-57 victory. The leading scorers for the Lions were Mello Woodard with a game high 29 points, Jeremy Miller with seven points and Willie Miller as well as Willis Cork with six points each.
Demontay Henley rounded out the Lions offense with four points
