huge success

The 2010 British Challenger Soccer Camp was a huge success with 36 kids ranging from 6 to 17 years of age attending. The camp was held at Hugh Ellard Park July 19-23. Despite the heat, the campers enthusiastically attended each day, with the younger kids camp participating in their version of the World Cup on Friday. The three coaches from Challenger stayed with host families during the week. Robert and Sprint Hawkins hosted Coach Mark Barnes-Davis, and Mark and Christy Sims hosted coaches Ian Hughes and Sam Little. Julie Bennett served as camp coordinator with assistance from Lindsay Dickerson.

Correction

New Kosciusko High School assistant football coach Don Rogers spent the majority of his 30-year coaching career at Alabama high schools. The error was a reporters' mistake. The Star-Herald regrets the error.
