Tigers fall prey to Timberwolves

ETHEL —

The Ethel Tigers hosted the West Oktibbeha Timberwolves last Friday night in a Region 3-1A contest, and dropped the decision 50-14.

The Tigers are now 2-6 overall and 0-5 in region play.

The Timberwolves were led by quarterback Von Smith who completed nine of 14 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball nine times for 130 yards.

Smith also accumulated five tackles on the defensive side of the ball with an interception.  Offensively for the Tigers, Markei Johnson hauled in a 34-yard touchdown pass from Antez Hopkins and Justin Self grabbed a 70-yard scoring pass from quarterback Bobby Potts, with Potts adding the two-point conversion.

The Tigers will travel to Nanih Waiya Friday night seeking their first region win at 7 p.m.
