FRENCH CAMP —
The French Camp Academy Panthers hosted the Ray Brooks Tigers last Friday night in a Region 2-1A contest and routed the visitors 52-0.
French Camp is now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in region play.
The Panthers jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead with quarterback Jesse Hosket scoring on a one-yard run, Hagan Box scoring on a five-yard run and Jaylon Clemons on a 42-yard scamper to reach pay dirt.
Sam Gould connected on all three PAT’s.
In the second quarter Gould connected on a 37-yard field goal attempt, pushing the Panther lead to 24-0.
Shortly after, Jesse Hosket scored again on another run; this time from 28-yards out and the Gould PAT was good.
The Panthers took a 31-0 lead into the intermission.
In the third quarter, Box scored another touchdown on a one-yard run, PAT good, and now led the Tigers 38-0.
French Camp scored another TD in the third quarter when Jesse Hosket ran one in from 24 yards out, PAT good; to increase the Panther lead to 45-0 upon entering the fourth quarter.
Clemons capped the Panther scoring when he took another one in from long distance, 60 yards, and the Panthers led 52-0 after another Gould PAT.
Offensively, the Panthers were led by quarterback Jesse Hosket who completed five of 12 passes for 75 yards and carried the ball eight times for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Clemons carried the football 11 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns and Hagan Box had six carries for 29 yards and two touchdowns as well.
Lovondra Carter led all receivers with three receptions for 60 yards.
Defensively, Ben Hosket led the Panthers with 13 tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery while Dylan Dorsey and Clemons had 11 tackles each.
Carter added an interception while Box and Hunter McKnight each had fumble recoveries.
Cortez Johnson had four total tackles on the night, but two sacks totaling 14 yards lost highlighted his play.
The Panthers travel to Greenville Friday night to take on region foe St. Joe in a 7 p.m. contest.
