KOSCIUSKO —
Former Kosciusko Whippet, HCC Bulldog and ULM Warhawk, Wil Browning made a move last Thursday to the Bluefield, West Virginia Blue Jays in the Advanced Rookie League.
Browning signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays last month and reported to Florida.
Browning, who played at Louisiana Monroe for the last few years, started out in the Gulf Coast League for the Toronto Blue Jays with the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays.
Browning appeared in seven games and pitched 6.2 innings before moving up to the advanced league.
He gave up two hits, one run, one walk and struck out 12 batters.
Browning said he is proud to be advancing, but he's not worrying about how fast it takes him to advance to each level.
"I'm going to do my best at whatever level I'm at," Browning said. "I can't look too far into the future. I've got to do the best job wherever I am."
Browning is the son of Charlie and Leslie Browning.
