The Durant Tigers won twice last week by defeating Mississippi School for the Deaf (MSD) 54-25 and then Pelahatchie 60-46.
In Tuesday night’s game the Tigers put MSD away early by jumping out to a 20-0 lead after one quarter of play.
The Tigers continued the onslaught as they again outscored MSD 13-7 in the second quarter to take a 33-7 lead into the half.
MSD held the Tigers to just 10 points in the third quarter, but could only muster six points themselves and trailed the Tigers 43-13 to begin the fourth quarter.
MSD outscored the Tigers in the games final quarter 12-11, but still lost the contest 54-25.
The leading scorers for the Tigers were Denzel Rodgers with 13 points, Schmarcus Steverson with nine points, Jeremy Roundtree with seven points and Winford Ross as well as Timothy McClendon with six points each.
In last Friday night’s game the Tigers found themselves in the hole quickly by falling behind the Pelahatchie Chiefs 17-11 after one quarter of play.
The Tigers seemed to be righting the ship in the second quarter when they were able to outscore the Chiefs 13-9, but still found themselves trailing at the half 26-24.
The Tigers were able to take the lead in the third quarter after again outscoring the Chiefs 14-6 to take a 38-32 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Tigers ran away with the contest in the fourth quarter by scoring 22 points.
The Chiefs could only manage 14 fourth quarter points, and lost the contest to the visiting Tigers 60-46.
The leading scorers for the Tigers were Theodore Haynes with 18 points, Jarius McChristian with 14 points,
Winford Ross with 10 points and Timothy McClendon with eight points.
The Tigers hosted Hartfield Academy Tuesday night and will travel to McAdams Friday night for a 6 p.m. contest.
