The Ackerman Indians hosted the Broad Street Jaguars last Friday night in the first round of the Class 2A Playoffs and won big, 38-0, to advance to round two Friday night at West Bolivar.
The Indians scored early and often against the Jaguars and led 13-0 after one quarter of play.
The Indians tacked on another 13 points in the second quarter and led 26-0 at the half.
The Indians put 12 more points on the board in the third quarter and led 38-0, which would be the final tally and punch the Indians ticket to the second round. Offensively, the Indians were led by quarterback Dakota Brasher who was 5-8 for 83 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 19 yards on two carries.
T. C. Hatchett led all rushers on the ground with 91 yards on just eight attempts with one touchdown while Corey McPherson rushed the ball eight times for 88 yards and Trent Furr had 67 yards on seven carries and a touchdown.
Jamarcus Bradley led all receivers with 42 yards on two catches and a touchdown while Quinton Lane had two catches for 28 yards and two touchdowns.
The Indians, 9-3 overall, will travel to West Bolivar, 10-2 overall, Friday night to begin the second round of the 2A State Playoffs at 7 p.m.
