Lady Whippets win one, drop one

KOSCIUSKO —

The Lady Whippets played two region games last week winning one and losing one. 

The Lady Whippets defeated Caledonia 4-2 and dropped one to Louisville 17-9. 

In the first game last Monday night, Phalisity Williams got the start and gave up only two runs. 

The offensive leaders for the Whippets were Sydney Rawson with two singles and one run scored, Phalisity Williams with a single and an RBI and C. J. Williams with a single, RBI and one run scored. 

Rounding out the offense for the Lady Whippets were Jennifer Pope with a run scored and Kaylee Ables with one run scored. 

This game improved the Lady Whippets to 11-2 overall and 2-1 in region play. 

The Lady Whippets then suited up for the Louisville Wildcats the very next day with less favorable results. 

Phalisity Williams again got the start for the Lady Whippets and surrendered 17 runs to the Wildcats. 

The Lady Whippets had a big day offensively as well by scoring nine total runs, but were unable to overcome the offensive barrage displayed by the Lady Wildcats. 

The offensive leaders for the Lady Whippets were Phalisity Williams with a triple and a single, Kara Rhodes with two singles and two runs scored, Coy Ballard with a double, single and one run scored and Kylie Schuster with a double and a single. 

Rounding out the offense for the Whippets were Sydney Rawson with one run scored, Nicole Englemann with one run scored, Jennifer Pope with three runs scored and Justice Dotson with one run scored. 

The loss dropped the Lady Whippets to 11-3 overall and 2-2 in region play.
