The Bulldogs of Holmes Community College hope to get the 2010 season off to a good start when they play host to Southwest Mississippi Community College Thursday night at 7.
The Bulldogs were 2-7 last year. This will be Danny Robertson's fourth year as head coach at HCC. Following the game with Southwest the Bulldogs play back-to-back road games against Co-Lin (Sept. 9 and Coahoma (Sept. 16).
Attala countians playing for the Bulldogs this season are: Blake Harthcock, Dereck Roos, Antwan McCain, Shawn Pee and C.W. Bishop.

Lady Whippets
fall to 6-2
with CC loss
Choctaw Central scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 4-3 win over Kosciusko High School last Thursday. The loss dropped the Lady Whippets to 6-2 on the season.
Kaitlin Young had a triple, single and two RBIs for Kosy, while Jena Mann had two singles, and Coy Ballard, Kaitlyn Hicks, Jessica Miles, Haleigh Warren and Katie Ferguson one hit each.
Next up for Kosy is a home game with Starkville on Thursday, before hosting region foe West Lauderdale on Tuesday.

Flag football
registration
continues
The Parks and Recreation Office in Kosciusko is now offering registration for flag football for boys and girls ages 5-12 (age as of September 1, 2010). Registration started Monday, August 9 and will continue until Sunday, Sept. 5. Registration will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. each day, Monday through Friday and on Sunday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. The registration fee is $50 and the forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Office on Love Road. Louisville QB
out for three
to four weeks
Louisville High School freshman quarterback Wyatt Roberts fractured a bone in his left arm just above his wrist in the first half of the Wildcats' 34-0 loss to Starkville on Friday night.
Roberts is expected to miss three to four weeks, but should be ready for either Louisville's Sept. 24 road game at West Lauderdale or the Wildcats' Oct. 1 Region 4-4A opener against Houston.
Junior C.J. Bates, who served as the back-up quarterback to starter Chris Wraggs last season, is expected to step into the quarterback role.
Louisville plays host to Quitman Friday.
