WINONA —
The homestanding Stars of Winona Christian School rushed for 301 yards on just 36 carries on the way to the solid win over Humphreys Academy on Friday night.
Walker Jackson scored four touchdowns and caught six passes for 117 yards to lead Winona Christian, while Jon Morgan Carpenter rushed for 108 yards on eight carries and scored Winona's first touchdown of the game on a 33-yard run.
Jackson's touchdowns came on a 41-yard run and passes of 16, 11 and 38 yards from C.J. Hodges, who hit on 6-of-10 passes for 139 yards.
Jackson also rushed for 77 yards on 13 attempts, while Ben Bowman had eight caries for 49 yards, Ryan Rogers four for 27 and Cameron Lepard three for 21. Rogers also had two catches for 22 yards.
Bowman led the WCS defense with eight tackles, while Lepard and Caleb Herring had six each, Tanner Bartlett had five and Hodges had five tackles and an interception.
Winona is open this week, before visiting Lee (Ark.) Academy on Sept. 10.
