The Williams-Sullivan Yellowjackets won the Durant Invitational Basketball Tournament by defeating Durant 61-41, McClain 59-51 and Marshall 67-57.
In the Durant game, Williams-Sullivan scored 15 points in the first quarter, eight in the second, 22 in the third and 16 in the fourth while Durant scored eight in the first, eight in the second, 10 in the third and 16 in the fourth.
Damarius Gypson scored a game-high 18 points for Williams-Sullivan followed by Kortez Wade with 14, D.J. Montgomery with 13, Auguster Hollins with nine and Markea Simmons with seven.
Scoring for Durant were Tyree McGee and Theodore Haynes with 11 each followed by Schmarcus Steverson with seven, Desmond Hackler and Timothy McClendon with four each, Khentrell Luckett with three and Demario Trotter with two.
In the McClain game, Williams-Sullivan won by eight points. Scoring for the McClain were Rotavious Thurmond with 17 points, Robert Jordan with 11, Willie Dudley with nine, Jonathan Fisher with eight, Aquanye Brown with four and Rodney Mallett with two.
Williams-Sullivan won game three (Marshall) to take the Durant Tournament. Scoring for Williams-Sullivan was Gypson with 17 points followed by Montgomery and Wade with 14 each, Simmons with 13 and Lavontaye March with nine.
Durant and J.J. McClain will be playing in the S.V. Marshall tournament on Dec. 20-22.
