Varner-Rone wedding vows said in Ethel Baptist ceremony

KOSCIUSKO — Jamie Craft Rone and Beau John Varner were united in marriage on June 19, 2010 at 4 p.m. at Ethel Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph M. Rone, Jr. of Ethel.  She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph M. Rone, Sr. of Ethel, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James F. England of Kosciusko.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Varner of Pelahatchie.  He is the grandson of Mrs. Sadie Banes and the late Mr. D.C. Banes of Pelahatchie, the late Mrs. Gertrue Varner Clark, and the late Mr. Johnnie Varner of Pelahatchie.

Rev. Adam Byrd Hillman, Jr. and Rev. Wesley Scott Walters officiated the ceremony.  Instrumental music was provided by Janet Simpson, pianist, and Jason Sims, organist.  Vocalists were Christopher Cauthen, friend of the bride, Janet Simpson, friend of the bride, and Leigh Warren, friend of the groom.

The church sanctuary featured a large arbor, built by the bride’s grandfather, as the center focal point covered in spring ari.  On either side of the arbor where two large vases filled with purple iris, gerbers, alstroemeria lilies, gladioluis, larksprur and spring ari.  Two candeltrees were lit and featured on either side of the vases. Boston ferns were placed throughout the sanctuary and front entrance.  A unity candle was also placed in the sanctuary and adorned with greenery.  

At the chiming of the hour, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father and wore a matte white satin A-line gown.  The gown featured a sweetheart neckline with lace embroidered cap sleeves, side draping, and a chapel train. The bodice and skirt of the dress was embellished with beaded metallic embroidery.  She wore a two-tier veil featuring a beautifully beaded scallop edge, and sequins.  She carried a hand-tied bouquet laced with pearl pins, which consisted of white roses, casablanca lilies and star gazer lilies.  

Attending the bride matrons of honor were her sisters Ginger Bain and Kellie Cauthen.  Bridal attendants were Lisa Anglin, Stephanie Blue, and Keri Varner.  The attendants wore blue chiffon and charmeuse dresses with a rounded neckline and flowing skirt.  The carried vibrant colors of gerbera daises tied with white ribbon and laced with pearl pins.  Annaleigh Bain, niece of the bride,  was the flower girl.

Ted Varner, father of the groom, served as best man.  Groomsmen were Justin Brumfield, Dennis Hines, Trent Irby, Dan Martin, Kevin Poole, and Phillip Schoggen.  Bryce Varner, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Serving as guest registry attendant upon entrance in the sanctuary was Debbie James, friend of the bride.  Rachel Bickerstaff served as wedding director.



Reception

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to a reception in the church fellowship hall hosted by the bride’s family.  The focal point of the reception area was a large white gazebo adorned with white roses and ivy.  The inside of the gazebo featured a round table with a flowing punch fountain.

The bride’s table was adorned with a white Battenberg cloth and featured a five-tiered vanilla cake with an intricate lace design, around a silver candelabra.  The cake was placed on a square silver cake plateau with flowers adorning the top and corners of the cake.  The bridesmaids’ bouquets were featured on the bride’s table around silver candelabra, and a silver punch bowl was used to serve guests.  

The groom’s table was adorned with a camouflage cake with chocolate covered strawberries.  A silver punch bowl was used to serve guests, as well as sugar cookies in the shape of wedding bells.  

Two main food tables were located behind the gazebo.  Guests were seated at wicker sets and round tables adorned with white tablecloths and blue overlays.  There were glass vases with matching fresh floral arrangements on each table.  Boston ferns were placed throughout the fellowship hall and entry way.  There were two doves just outside the entry way alongside a variety of ferns.  The couple was showered with birdseed and bubbles as they left the reception.

Following a honeymoon to Branson, MO, the couple is at home in Starkville.  



Rehearsal

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a dinner for the wedding party, family, and friends at Wanda’s Catering.

On the morning of the wedding, the bride, her attendants, and other guests were honored at a brunch given by the bride’s grandmother, Allene Rone, at Seasoning’s

Catering in Kosciusko.



Showers

The bride was feted with several showers during their engagement.  The showers included miscellaneous showers which were hosted by Ethel Baptist Church and Shiloh United Methodist Church.  The bride was honored at a shower hosted by several of her friends from work, as well as a shower hosted by her Bunko group.  The groom was also honored at a tool shower hosted by several of his friends from Pelahatchie.
