KOSCIUSKO —
Susan Joyce Henry and Paul Cameron Harris were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on July 29, 2010 with a private beach ceremony on the island of St. Lucia in the French West Indies.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dale Henry Sr. of Carthage and the granddaughter of Mr. Guy Irwin of Carthage and the late Mr. Shelby Henry of Carthage.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Weldon Harris Jr. of Kosciusko and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Chandler of Kosciusko and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Weldon Harris Sr. of Kosciusko.
The bride and groom were joined in a traditional nuptial exchange held privately on the beach in St. Lucia. The bride wore a designer gown of white taffeta fashioned with a strapless modified sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was enhanced by ruched taffeta made to resemble the waves of the ocean. A short chapel length train swept from the skirt. She wore a pearl bracelet borrowed from her mother and stud pearl earrings. The dress was decorated with an ivory satin ribbon tied around the natural waist featuring a hand-made silk white flower on her left hip. She carried a bouquet of magenta orchids wrapped in cream colored satin ribbon.
Upon returning home a reception was held at Williamsville Baptist Church on August 8, 2010.
The wedding cake was a traditional three tier wedding cake decorated with the couple’s initial and fresh flowers in varying shades of magenta. The groom’s table featured pound cake, strawberry cake, and chocolate cake.
Book attendants and servers were the bride’s nieces Abby Grace Stevens, Calisa Henry, Cheyanne Alford; her nephew Nathan Gunn; and her aunt Barbara Thompson.
The guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Billy Tollison. Guests enjoyed afternoon hors d’oeuvres of meatballs, sandwiches, and various dips. Multiple items were family heirlooms and borrowed from parents and grandparents of the bride and groom.
Another reception was held at the Kosciusko Country Club on August 14, 2010. The wedding cake was the same traditional three tiers with the couple’s initial topper and fresh flowers. The tables were decorated with pewter heirloom centerpieces that featured a mixture of spring flowers.
Guests enjoyed a buffet barbecue dinner cooked by Chevis Thompson of Kosciusko and danced to the music of the Jason Turner Band of Brandon.
The couple enjoyed the wedding ceremony and honeymoon at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Resort on the island of St. Lucia, West Indies. They will reside in Jonesville, LA where the bride is a teacher and the groom is a sales representative.
