Richardson-Harbarger vows pledged in Jackson ceremony

Laura Ann Harbarger and Breck Taylor Richardson were united in marriage on May 23, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.

Officiating the ceremony were Rev. Dr. Ligon Duncan III and Rev. Walter Eugene Richardson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wheeler Harbarger of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jones Franklin Harbarger and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Newton Adams Jr.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eugene Richardson of Kosciusko and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ewell Oliver Malone, and Walter Waugh Richardson and Robbie Earl Simmons Bramlett.

Nuptial music was presented by Connie Wadsworth, organist, and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra String Quartet. The vocalist for the ceremony was Christopher John Cauthen.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of duchess silk satin, fashioned with a strapless sweetheart neckline and an asymmetrically draped bodice. Covered buttons closed the back of the gown, and the flared A-line skirt swept into a chapel train.

She wore a single-tiered, fingertip length veil, edged in Alencon lace, that had been worn by her mother. She carried an English-style, hand-tied bouquet of white roses, hydrangea and white orchids.

Attending the bride as maids of honor were Anna Katherine Kendall and Elizabeth Anne Taylor. Bridesmaids were Taylor Marion-Joy Burns, Norma Caldwell Cox, Catherine Corrine Cunningham, Holly Elizabeth Darnell, Emily Worthey Harbarger, Rachel Webb Harbarger, Melissa Leigh Hobby, Elizabeth Claire May and Mandy Michelle McCoy.

The attendants wore strapless dresses of sable European satin with ruched sashes of sage satin encircling the waistline and drifting down the back of the A-line skirts.

Best men were the bridegroom’s brothers, Brady Lane Richardson and Brenton Gene Richardson.

Groomsmen were Kevin Williams Abel, Brian Madison Carr, Claude Franklin Harbarger, David Adams Harbarger, Jordan Denson Kemp, Daniel Cade Montague, Bryan Weeks Nelms, Matthew Allen Sample and Benjamin Lee Simpson.

Alayna Christine Richardson and Georgia Grace Richardson, nieces of the groom, served as flower girls. Walton Brent Richardson, nephew of the groom, served as the ring bearer.

The bride’s proxy was Marianna Breazeale Shaw. Program attendants were Catherine Ruth McCullen, Mary Mitchell Purvis, Abby Karolin Richardson and Mary Rogers Sorey.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Fairview Inn with music provided by the Mississippi Symphony String Quartet.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Country Club of Jackson.

After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple now resides in Little Rock, Arkansas, where the bride is pursing a master’s degree in education, and the groom is completing a residency in pediatric medicine.
