Gunter, Cain exchange vows in summertime ceremony


Austyn Leigh Gunter and Robert Douglas Cain, Jr. were wed on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at six o’clock at First Baptist Church in Kosciusko.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Julian Gunter of Kosciusko. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Tilda B. Worrell and the late Kendall Worrell of Ackerman and the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Gunter of Kosciusko.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cain, Sr. of Kosciusko. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stiedle of Canton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Van Cain of Durant.

Officiating the wedding were the Rev. Barry Corbett and the Rev. Les Newsom. Nuptial music was provided by Kendy Kosko, vocalist, Ronnie Ables, pianist and organist, Suszanne Ables, pianist and Caitlin Grymes, violinist.

Mary Margaret Cockroft served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Yerger, Laura Dalton, Mary Markle, Susan Lawrence, Krystal Jenkins, and Lindsey Brooke Cain.

Honorary bridesmaids were Emily Chambers, Ally Watkins, Mary Lea Mars, Robyn Ellis, Erin Dungan, and Katherine Terry. Flower girl was Eliza Kate Kosko. The wedding was directed by Kathy and Krystal Jenkins.

The groom’s father, Robert Cain, Sr., served as best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Cain, Bryant Gunter, Robert Morris, Bill Irwin, Zack Becker and Drew Crawley.

The bridal gown was a ivory silk taffeta featuring a strapless modified sweetheart neckline, accented with a side drape and featuring crystal beading.

She wore a chapel length illusion veil trimmed with satin.

The attendants wore floor length black silk taffeta gowns featuring a side drape.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Rib Alley restaurant in Kosciusko.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride’s cake was a six-tier ivory and white creation adorned with a dark chocolate vine and an array of multi-hued hydrangeas and roses.

The groom’s cake was five-tiers of dark chocolate cake with white cream and chocolate butter cream filling, featuring the couple’s monogram. Both cakes were designed and created by the bride’s mother.

The couple danced to the music of Steve Chester and Barry Leach.

Following a honeymoon in Florida, the couple is at home in Oxford, Mississippi.
