GOODMAN —
Hailey Anne Henry and Micah Randall Dew were united in marriage at six o'clock in the evening, April 16, 2011 at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum chapel in Jackson.
The double ring ceremony was officiated by Bro. Jerry Meggs and Ms. Nash Noble.
The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Henry of Kosciusko. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Marie Henry and the late Mr. Bob Henry of Kosciusko, Ms. Anne Whiteside and the late Dr. Paul Whiteside of Pontotoc, and the late Mr. Ralph Strickland of Corinth.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Randall Dew of Kosciusko. He is the grandson of Ms. Dorothy Phillips and the late Mr. Horace Phillips and the late Mr. and Mrs. Preston Dew, all of Kosciusko.
Ms. Nash Noble provided the nuptial music, while Miss Allison Watkins read a selection from Elizabeth Barrett Browning's, Sonnets from the Portuguese.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a custom tailored dress by James Cartilage of Cartilage Designs of Philadelphia. The A-line gown featured a halter neckline, satin ribbon around the waist and was adorned with iridescent seed beads and sequins. Her waist length veil was also accented along its scalloped edge with iridescent seed beads. The bride's jewelry included a family heirloom cameo as “something old”, a pair of diamond and pearl earrings, her wedding gift from the groom, for “something new'', and diamond earrings from friend and wedding photographer, Amy Lindsay, as “something borrowed”. For “something blue”, the bride elected to have a piece of blue satin, monogrammed with the couple's names and wedding date, sewn underneath her dress. The bride handcrafted her bouquet from antique brooches and other vintage jewelry, gifted to her by special friends and family members.
As the couple exchanged rings in the double ring ceremony she gave him her maternal great-grandfather’s ring.
The couple chose to have a family oriented wedding which included having their parents stand with them at the altar. Their mothers held hand tied miniature bouquets of cream-colored roses.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception on the grounds of the museum. Guests were invited to enjoy a traditional southern dinner of the couple's favorite comfort foods, provided by Wanda's Catering. The bride's cake was a four-layer coconut cake made by her maternal grandmother, Anne Whiteside. The groom's table featured sweet potato and pecan pies made by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Phillips, and miniature cupcakes from Hey! Cupcake. The reception and chapel were decorated with mixed floral arrangements from Fresh Cut Catering and Floral. Reception attendants were Bella Branch, Christy Mullen and Brandi Ellard.
The night before the wedding, the couple was honored with a traditional Vietnamese house blessing and tea ceremony by Ms. KimLinh Tran of Kentwood, Michigan, close friend of the bride’s family.
After honeymooning in Costa Rica, the bride and groom are at home in Flowood. They are respectively employed by Hospice Ministries, Inc and The Mississippi Department of Transportation.
