Bailey-Gallaspy vows pledged in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Rachel Rebecca Gallaspy and Jeremy Roger Bailey were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010.  The ceremony took place at Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.  

Officiating the ceremony was Dr Ronald Sumners.

 The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Gallaspy, Jr of Chelsea, AL. She is the granddaughter of Mr G.M. Gallaspy, Sr and the late Mrs Ellouise Gallaspy of Kosciusko, MS and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Crosby of Scottsboro, AL.

 The groom is the son of Mrs Janice Bailey and the late Mr Jerry R. Bailey of Sylvan Springs, AL.  He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred J. Nichols of Sylvan Springs, AL and the late Mr. Mason Bailey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Judge Davis of Chelsea, AL.  

Music was provided by The Cahaba River String Quartet and the Rev. and Mrs. Ed Cleveland.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, white satin gown.  Her headpiece consisted of a white veil accented with a pearl and rhinestone comb borrowed from her sister, Andrea Maddox.  The bridal bouquet contained white miniature calla lilies and rhinestones.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Andrea Maddox.  Bridesmaids were Ginger Bullington and Amye Rockett. Honorary bridesmaids were Lesley Hardin, sister of the bride, Kristen Hirsh, Stephanie Lachina, Jennifer McDaniel, sister of the groom, Misti Rasmussen, Sistina Thompson and Andrea Wilson.

 The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore strapless, black and white gowns with matching black earrings and bracelets.  

 The groom’s daughter, Mary Beth Bailey served as the best girl.  Groomsmen were Jake Carroll, Brian Rockett and Ken Salter. Ushers were Greg Hardin, Jonathan Maddox and Zack Nichols.  

 Book attendant was Jessica Hardin.  Program attendants were Ellie Bond, Emma Bond, LiLi Crosby and Roxie Crosby.  

 Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.  

The couple honeymooned at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. They will reside in Birmingham, AL where the bride is a pediatric nurse practitioner and the groom is a regional director of loss prevention.
