KOSCIUSKO —
The Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club of Kosciusko will host the Sixth Annual C.A.RE. (Children are the Reason for Excellence) Banquet on September 20, at 6 p.m. at the club on Knox Road in Kosciusko.
A silent auction begins at 6 p.m. with items donated by board members and club friends and volunteers. Included in the auction will be paintings by area artists including Danny Brunt, Peggy Sims and Dale McLean. Bidding on paintings will open on the banquet evening and will close during the Attala Historical Society’s Beehive Marketplace November 2 and 3.
The Banquet theme is “Passport to the Future.” Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite tropical dinner attire.
Dave Condon, founder of Diversified Nonprofit Services will be the keynote speaker that evening and will be sharing his powerful story of the impact Boys and Girls Club had on his life. Entertainment will be provided by members of the Holmes Connection; Caroline May of Eupora, Kathleen Lott of Carrollton, Gade Chamblee of Winona, and Michael Yates, Director of Holmes Community College. The Club’s children’s choir will perform Caribbean songs and a delicious island menu will be served by members of the Keystone Club.
Tickets are $35 each with tables for eight reserved for $250.
