The Kosciusko Police Department reports the following arrests:
On Saturday, Steve Allen Coffee Sr., 54, was arrested for first offense driving under the influence on Highway 12 by Cpl. Danny Groves.
On Saturday, Kendrick Roshaun Carter, 29, was arrested for two counts of felony shoplifting, and one count of simple assault on a police officer at Walmart by officer Mark Gilmore.
On Sunday, Willis Lemonth Potts, 33, was arrested for improper equipment and second offense suspended driver’s license on Highway 12 West by officer Bradley Fancher.
On Sunday, Wesley Ashford, 31, was arrested for domestic violence (simple assault) on West Adams Street by officer Maurice Hawthorne.
On September 27, Christopher Darron Stevenson, 28, was arrested for felony possession of marijuana and weapon possession by a felon at Glendale Apartments by Cpl. Robert Land.
On September 27, Earl J. Barksdale, 20, was arrested for possession of marijuana in a vehicle and possession of paraphernalia at Glendale Apartments by officer Greg Collins.
On September 22, James Cordell Young, 35, was arrested for felony possession of stolen property, possession of stolen property (misdemeanor), first offense driving under the influence, possession of liquor in a dry county, no proof of insurance, suspended driver’s license, and improper equipment on Highway 12 West by Gilmore.

Cyclists gathered in Downtown Kosciusko May 22 to take part in the National Ride of Silence. The mission of the world wide ride is to honor bicyclists killed by motorists, promote sharing the road, and provide awareness of bicycling safety.

May 23, 1963
When Mary Ellen Scarborough steps across the stage of the Kosciusko High School auditorium to receive her diploma on Friday evening, she will be the third child of Rev. and Mrs. Ben C. Scarborough to finish Kosciusko High with a perfect attendance record. Benjy, who finished KHS in 1959, will be graduating from Mississippi College on June 2. Jack, who finished KHS in 1961, graduated from Holmes Junior College on May 19. All three have been active in student, church, and community affairs and have been honor roll and dean’s list students. - Relay for Life raises funds
