DURANT —
A new Subway restaurant is scheduled to be built in Durant on Highway 12.
Durant Mayor Robert Johnson made the announcement during the Tuesday, October 2, board of aldermen meeting.
"The building permit has been secured," said Johnson. "I believe Carpenter Management out of Grenada owns that property."
Carpenter Management has an office in Durant.
Johnson said Carpenter Management would build the space and lease it out to the franchise.
The proposed site is next to Mac's Fresh Market near the city's baseball field.
Johnson said a business permit has not been secured yet.
