KOSCIUSKO — Kosciusko: Daniel, Stanley vie for Ward 2 seat
Longtime Kosciusko Ward 2 Alderman Henry Daniel will face Republican challenger Brad Stanley in the city-wide election June 4.
The Ward 4 Alderman seat is up for grabs as John Sullivan will not be running for re-election. Earl Kern and Jeffrey Woods are seeking to claim the spot.
Mayor Jimmy Cockroft and Aldermen Marvin “Pop” Lawrence, Tim Kyle and Robert Ellis have all qualified for the upcoming city election.
Ethel: Mitchell, McDaniel running for mayor
Ethel Mayor Ophelia N. Mitchell has one opponent for the June 4 election. Annette R. McDaniel has qualified to run for mayor.
Current aldermen Anthony J. Barksdale, Diane Doty, Lydia Mae Fair, Larry Morgan and Paul Stewart are all seeking re-election.
Others qualifying for aldermen are: Tyrone Merritt and Daniel “Danny” Adams.
McCool: Hill opposes incumbent mayor
In McCool, incumbent Terri Jean Dempsey, is opposed by Mark Hill for the title of mayor.
In the race for alderman,Tony Smith, Katie Hughes and Sue Gilbert are joining incumbents Marjorie Rosamond, Savannah Eakin, Billy Joe Rowell, and David Fancher for the five seats on the board.
They will be chosen in the June 4 election.
Sallis: Two add names in alderman race
Incumbent mayor Jack Ables is unopposed for the position he has held for a number of years in Sallis.
Reba Robertson and William Shannon Lewis have qualified in the race for alderman. They join incumbents David Brent Busbea, John Roby, Linda Hutchison and Kelly Hutchison in the race to select five aldermen. All are Independents.
The election is set for June 4.
