Life in the early years of Attala County and Kosciusko was remembered last Thursday night by local historians during a program at the Attala County Library, held in conjunction with National Library Week.
Conor Bell, new band director at Ethel High School, gave an assessment of inventory and informed regarding plans for what he termed a “rebuild situation” for the band program during the Monday night meeting of the Attala County School Board.
A 79-year-old grandfather, Ross Sherman of Wiggins, and three of his grandchildren — students on spring break from schools in Stone County — made a stop in Kosciusko to rest from cycling the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Mrs. Vivian Tyler celebrated her 100th birthday Friday, March 9, at the Atwood Home in Kosciusko, where she has resided for three years. She was born in 1918 in Choctaw County near French Camp, and is the remaining survivor of nine children born to Katie and Bob Turner.
