Kosciusko Police Chief Herbert Dew told The Star-Herald this morning that two phone scams have been hitting the area in recent days.
In the first scam, the caller indicates they are raising money for the Kosciusko Police Department.
Just as the Attala County Board of Supervisors were set to adjourn its meeting Tuesday morning, Beat 4 Supervisor Kary Ellington brought up the issue of litter on Attala County roadways, leading to a brief discussion of Attala County having its own jail again.
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has released the most recent school- and district-level chronic absence data, which shows that 14.2 percent of Mississippi students were absent 10 percent or more of the time enrolled during the 2016-17 school year.
