Officials with the Attala County Board of Supervisors and Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital have said in the last week that a deal for Mississippi Baptist Health Systems to lease the hospital continues to move forward.
A public hospital is owned by the taxpayers.
Funeral services for Rev. Dr. Martha Marie Coffee Williams, 63, were held Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at Marble Rock M.B. Church with burial in Marble Rock Cemetery. She died Feb. 18, 2015.
Mrs. Virgie Stewart McCrory, 74, of Sallis, passed away March 1, 2015, in Kosciusko.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Coleman Cemetery in McAdams. Visitation began at noon.
President Obama, it seems, has one-upped Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant in proposing free community college tuitions. Bryant, back in November, proposed a $3 million plan to pay for community college for students who earn a technical diploma in high school.
