Three employees are safe after the back portion of the roof at SBS Home Center in downtown Kosciusko collapsed this morning.

Memorial Day next Monday will be marked with the Aisle of Honor ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. at Parkway Cemetery.

With over 155 graduates, the Class of 2018 is Kosciusko’s largest. Superintendent Billy Ellzey noted that this class earned more than $650,000 in scholarships.

“Don’t let fear keep you from reaching your goals,” he said.

Fresh off a Class 4A state championship performance last week, Kosciusko fast-pitch standout Katie Mitchell is now prepping for an all-star performance.

Just a week after winning a state championship and being announced as a Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star, Kosciusko junior pitcher Katie Mitchell was chosen as the Region 4-4A Most Valuable Player.

The graduation ceremonies at Durant Public School were more bittersweet than usual - 2018 marks the graduation of the school’s final class. Hereafter, the high school will be merged with another area district.
