This past week on the way home I stopped by the Mulberry Forks in Sipsey. Normally, there are several people sitting in folding chairs, shooting the bull and watching time pass at the speed of the slow-moving river. But on this day, I had the place to myself.





Raising chickens

Back in the early sixties, there was no city ordinance against people raising chickens in their backyards.  My mom and dad were country folks by birth, so raising the yard birds was something that just came naturally.

My birthday is this week. I celebrate 66 years on the planet. Through the years, the gifts from my lovely spouse Jilda have evolved. During the early years when my hair was thick and my waistline was thin, she gave me records, books and snazzy clothes.
